 Sowmya Sowmya, a research student in Chemistry from IIT Madras, discontinued research to pursue a career in music. Disciple of Dr. S. Ramanathan, Sowmya has used her technical knowledge well by producing CDs in Carnatic music along with singer K.N. Shasikiran. Music Today has released a 'Padam and Javali' album and Media Dreams has released Shama Sastri and Subrayashastri songs by her. She is part of the team, which runs the website www.carnatica.com.
