This news will certainly be music to many. After all, it's not often that two of India's greatest music maestros -- Ustad Zakir Hussain and Pt Ravi Shankar -- both Ustaad Zakir Hussain from the north indian classical music arena, perform together on the same stage. The two Indian classical musicians will come together for the first time in 15 years for a rare concert on February 11 at the Shri Shanmukhnanda Hall, in Sion.
Shashi Vyas, Director, Pancham Nishad, who is organising the concert along with One India One People foundation agrees that this is indeed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Pandit Ravishankar "The two artistes' dates were not coinciding, which is why they haven't come together for so long," says Vyas. Ravishankar and Anoushka And the evening will only get better! Pt Ravi Shankar's daughter, Anoushka Shankar, will also share the stage with them for part of the concert. The term 'Sound of music' will certainly take another meaning in February!
